Cafe Kaeru - Kamakura

Very nice bento-lunch in extremely nice garden setting

Hygge with a Japanese twist. The lunch was delicious too. The bento comes with some pickled spring onions in a sweet citrus flavored fashion, which were superbly balanced. They also know their coffee and watching them prepare it behind the bar is worth it.

Kaeru yes frogs and a play on to come back. Worth revisiting. Excellent food, especially desserts and coffee. Picturesque garden with tables so you can sit outside.

A hidden gem of a cafe you can only find in Kamakura. A little ways out from the city center, the enclosed garden space and delicious lunch menu, especially the seasonal vegetable bowl 季節野菜どんぶり make this cafe well worth the trip. Go on a weekday afternoon and you’ll probably have the place to yourself.

Very relaxing atmosphere and good food. A bit off the main road but definitely worth the few minutes detour.
