Great place and awesome to be able to order food, but after watching oppenheimer my ears have been ringing now for three hours and i feel like they will continue to do so. Had to cover my ears several times because their sound system was mind numbingly loud. Love the place but after this experience I wouldn't go there again for anything dramatic/action. What Yety Akinola doesn't like about Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Downtown Los Angeles:
Easy to book tickets in advance. Lovely decor. Friendly front office and waitstaff, offering a great selection of movies with the worst food at the highest prices. We sent back our meal, the fries were cold and over cooked, the burger was undercooked and cold. 15 minutes later, we got the same meal (re done).. if possible it was worse than the first.Movie over, was a little shocked that the inedible meal was still on... We’ve been coming here for years and it’s always great but the past few times, the food is always late and/or cold and the staff is not at all on it.
Awesome theater in the heart of LA. Easy to get to, to park, and overall find. Guest parking is level 4 and above, and the cinema can be found via level 4 and the rear elevator on the side. Just follow the signs. The interior is exceptional, with old-time cinema posters in electric furnishings and style. The lounge chair seating is comfortable, and the staff bring you your food and or drinks to you while being as discrete as possible. Pay at the end of the movie. This was a great experience, I'm definitely coming back.
While on my business trip to LA, I managed to take some time out and visited Alamo to watch an Indiana Jones movie. I must say, this place offers a truly distinctive movie experience. Their strict no phone, no text policy enhances the movie-watching atmosphere. What's even better is that you can remain seated throughout the film, and they serve food right to your seat as you order. The ordering process is seamless too – they provide a menu and a note pad on the table. Just write down what you want and press the switch, and they'll take care of the rest. Moreover, the seats are comfortable and electronically operated, adding to the overall enjoyment of the experience.
Watched Indiana Jones here. They have recliners but they don’t recline all the way.Overall good experience. You can order bottomless popcorns and bottomless iced tea here and they keep delivering to your spot.
Been going regularly here. They have such an interesting collection of movies! Old noir, oddball foreign films, not just the headline movies. They bring food and drinks out to your seat. I usually park about a mile away and get some steps in but validated parking is available.
