Top End Thai Restaurant - Kalgoorlie

On a business trip to Kalgoorlie I decided to make a working holiday with the girlfriend and newborn baby. On a trip to Kalgoorlie many years ago when working for another company my boss recommended that we try the Thai at Top End Thai as it was once known but most recently named Manna Thai.My first experience with Top End Thai was one of the best Thai meals I'd had outside of Thailand, so we walked in with great expectations. My partner was super excited considering how much I'd "talked up" the place.Since my first meal there, I believe it must have changed hands as my first memory was of an elderly Thai lady that surprised us in being the chef and that her daughter and son in-law ran the reception and service side of the operation.I have to say that it wasn't as good as I once remembered but that can often be the case with revisiting an old favourite. In saying that, it was still an awesome meal but wasn't as consistently awesome across the board.We ordered the old favourites like Pad Thai, Massaman Beef Curry and Green Chicken Curry and the Yellow Prawn Curry. The flavours of the green, Massaman and prawn curry were beautiful and balanced and although it could have done with a few more prawns, the prawns were a better quality than many Asian restaurants but I found the Pad Thai a bit bland and in need of a bit of punch.The service was good, with the waitstaff polite and courteous and the restaurant clean and tidy, with plenty of room for our newborn in a pram.Overall we found the meal very good. It was pricey for what it was but this can occasionally be the case in any country town and although it wasn't as good as I remember, we'd definitely head back again the next time in Kalgoorlie.Cheers!Dave.

This restaurant is also known as Manna Thai. We were visiting Kalgoorlie from NSW and called in here for dinner. The food was beautiful. The service was very friendly. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Fresh and well prepared thai food. If that is what you want go no further. Surroundings have not changed in 20 years. That is fine. Been eating here for that long. Never disappointed

We went looking for a decent meal and what we ended up with was one we can rave about. This was scrumptious. Our massaman curry was the best and so wish we had known how awesome the meal would be and would got more. We only stayed the one night and were lucky we stumbled upon this place. This is the best Thai we have had in ages. The flavours were spot on and melted in your mouth.

Arrived on a freezing night for a birthday meal for two. Met by a very friendly proprietor and seated with menus and a smile. Thai fish cakes and money bags to start with were tasty and hot. The beef massaman curry had it's typical sweet savoury flavour with crunchy peanuts on top. The coconut lime prawns were delicious, tangy and fresh. Really worth the visit and very good value. The birthday girl loved it :-)
