Good Friday...arrived in town and went to find tea at 6.30 as were many other tourists. IGA was shut...1 fish and chip joint shut, the pub shut, 1 place stopped taking orders at 6.30 despite closing at 7pm. We managed to find 1 place still open that doesnt require a reservation. For a fishing town, this place has the worst fish chips ever! Smallest serving of fish chips I have ever had for $12, fillets were almost bite size and chips mashy! View all feedback.
It was a nice windy afternoon and we felt like a little fish and chips. After digging the depth of the bank account to pay for what should be called bait and chips, we took the food down to the river to find the fish stunk, yellow and tasted terrible. Even hake has more going for than what we got served. Had some bad fish and chips in my time, but this place takes the cake as the best dog food I've fed seagulls.
Fish was yellow and tasted like old deep fried bait and cost you an arm and a leg, I'm happy to pay dollars for top notch food,but not this poor excuse for fish and chips !!
Had fish and chips here. Fish was overcooked. Chips are bland.
Fish servings a little on the small side, but taste was great .Service from Sue was wonderful .
