There was no menu as such just suggestions from the proprietor’s wife. A veritable feast arrived about mins later. Probably the best food we had during two weeks in Kerala. It all felt very authentic. No frills just wonderful food, great hospitality, fantastic atmosphere, chat with the proprietor and his wife and then an introduction to their lovely little daughter. We felt nothing was too much trouble. All smiles. We will definitely seek them out when we return. What a treat?! Cheap too!

We were pleasantl... read more After visiting the Shiiva Temple next door to Mararikulam beach during a festival, our taxi driver recommended a local small restaurant to us. We were pleasantly surprised by the fresh and delicious thali we had there, with a lot of variety. It was the best food we had tasted since arriving in Kerala. The next morning, we returned to the temple hoping that Granma's restaurant would be open, but it wasn't. However, the owners kindly cooked a traditional Putty for us, which was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a traditional dining experience made with love.
