There is always a certain charm when visiting the Bell's Eccentric Cafe, located in the heart of their original brewery. As expected you can get Bell's flagship beers, but also you get access to a few cafe only beers. Once in awhile the cafe will havea ton of special beers during and after events like Roll out the Barrel. Definitely worth the trip if you want to sample somespecial stuff. I'll be honest, it's not very often that we have a meal at Bell's. During this last trip we tried their smashburgers. I'm confident in saying that they have the best burger in Kalamazoo. If you're visiting Kalamazoo it's worth thetrip. Don't forget to stop at the Bell's General Store to grab some beer to take home.

I?ve wanted to come this way a very long time call in to Bell?s. I was glad I did. The staff was very friendly. I?ve worked in a brewery cringe whenever someone orders a flight. However, guilty as hell your honor had a nice flight served with agenuine smile kind words. We didn?t eat dinner. We saw some dishes it looked good. They have a back room events type areabig enough for a worthy small concert venue. This night The Arena Rock Band or similar name (70?s 80?s cover band) was soundchecking for a sold out show later. I closed out my flight with a full pour of HopSlam. We visited the store after, got somecarry out, swag left happy. The industrial feel of the area as well as being right on the Rail Road Tracks made it seem thatmuch cooler. FYI They like you (at least when we called in) to get table, grab the number on the table bring it to thecounter then the food is delivered to your table identified by your number. The good thing is you walk away with your beer don?t have to wait for it to be delivered.

This whole setup is top notch. Restaurant and taps inside, concert venue and flexible outdoor seating outside. Incredible beer all around, and they are booking fantastic acts. I just say I am biased on the last bit since the Mountain Goats are my favoriteband, but honestly that's a pretty big pull for a brewery beer garden. The place can hold a huge crowd. They also had multipleplaces to grab a drink, accessible seating for those who didn't want to stand for the show, and excellent vibes overall.

I've been going to the eccentric cafe since Larry turned a filthy old room in his warehouse into the first version, with the bathroom up the stairs to a hole in the wall and ping pong tables in the back. Das Boot! Every time I go there it gets nicer and nicer. The milk stout on tap was excellent. It has that unique Bells flavor. And everyone's food was excellent as well. We all miss Larry. It was his eccentricity that made Bells what it is today. I think the new corporate ownership has their heads up their asses. (Whose idea was it to have an IPA eccentric ale? but I will always love the eccentric cafe. Not to be missed. The tour is highly recommended. Tour guide Dale was very friendly and knowledgeable of Bells history. The beer samples were of course fabulous, Amber Ale, Oberon, and Two Hearted a tremendous lineup. The restaurant afterwards was very good. The smash burger was superb. Bells gift shop was reasonably priced. It was worth the day trip to experience it.
