Inside you get a perfect glimpse on an authentic traditional tavern. There are even objects long forgotten from the golden era of the old Greek cinema. The food is of excellent quality too! What Simos V doesn't like about Vagias Taverna:
After reading the reviews we decided to visit the taverna. It really had a rustic style and beautiful surroundings. Regarding the food, we found very good country salad and very good bread and wine. Otherwise it had very average flavors in the main courses and small portions. The courgettes were watery and we didn't like the cayenne. Simplicity at its best; an amazing old tavern, almost hidden from the hustle and bustle of the modern city. In its lovely yard, we enjoyed traditional dishes, simply cooked and using fresh available ingredients. Meat and fish dishes were available and it's worth following suggestions of the owner and staff. A fruity draught white wine accompanied our dinner. Everything was reasonably priced, and staff were polite. You should arrive early, because it gets busy very fast with locals and connaisseurs. Highly recommended.
