I wasn't expecting to see the killer views offered at the kalaheo location. Next time I'll take the time to eat in house. I ordered the food when I got there, so I had a few minutes to soak it in. I had the fish tacos, my wife had the carnitas tacos the two boys had a carnitas burro and a kids bean and cheese burrito. It was quiet for about 5 minutes because that's how long it took us to eat. What Kaikoa Texeira doesn't like about Paco's Tacos Cantina Kalaheo (kukuiolono Golf Club) Mexican Food Kauai:
Ordered a carnitas plate and fish burrito over phone. Guy barelycould hear over the phone nor speak conversational English. Grabbed my bag to go after paying $33 and only the carnitas plate in there, no burrito. Called back questioning my order. They hung up the phone while still not able to speak English. I even tied in words of plato and pescado to no avail. Wish I could get my tip back View all feedback.
We arrived at 4:15. They close at 5, but stop taking orders at 4:30, but actually close early at 4:15. It all a big joke. So if you actually want to eat. AVOID this place.
Pretty cool spot. They have breakfast. Really awesome view. The golf course said it's in even has a lava rock garden and dog hiking trails.
Holy cow, actually fantastic Mexican food on the island!! And what a view!
Amazing view and even better food. The grilled fish tacos were exactly what I expect for fish tacos. Corn tortillas, white grilled fish (but you can get fried), cabbage slaw and good sauces. Chile relleno was also done perfectly. Will definitely go back!
From a Mexican perspective I would rate this restaurant as very low. People that say its authentic food clearly have never eaten in a real Mexican table and only tourist orientated restaurants.The taste of the food is bland. Mexican food is rich in flavor and this place does not have it. I would say the view is really nice.
