Small place that seemed to also be a bar. We sat in the dining side. Service was very slow, only one waitress (not Spanish) that was fast, but overwhelmed. She was very friendly. Decor is simple. Dining area was very small. The place was hot, I would not recommend going on hot summer days. Despite all this, I liked the place. Our meat, cheese chorizo tapas was good. The breading on the calamari looked odd, but they tasted good. The Spanish tortilla was good. Prices reasonable. This is a decent Spanish restaurant for tapas and other dishes in Kaiserslautern, maybe the only place. Go with a small group on a cool day.
This is a fairly small restaurant with cheap if pleasant decor. The owner is Spanish, but the rest of the staff and his family seem to be German. Service was prompt and a bit more friendly than usual for the Kaiserslautern area. The wine list was very basic -- you can order "red" or "white" or sherry -- no regions, vintners much less vintages -- and the server didn't know either, but she was nice enough to go find out. The foods were mostly disappointing, with the exception of the gambas a la plancha -- a nice shrimp dish. Green and black olives tasted like they came from a jar from German grocery store -- nothing I've ever had in Spain or in better Spanish restaurants. The worst Manchego cheese I've ever had. It wasn't bad, but it was not good (and it was presliced!). The jamon was decent but certainly you won't find a ham hanging from the ceiling here for fresh cuts. Chorizo was bad. Croquetas came with different fillings, but they were made differently too. We liked the meat ones -- they were almost empanadas more than croquetas. The spinach ones were mostly filling with a thin not very crisp shell.
Very inconspicuous restaurant, without much taste and ambience. We were more than surprised! The paella for 2 people was more than rich and so creepy! Although we had to wait relatively long, we were warned by the operation, that was okay. The service was incredibly beautiful and warm, everything is very authentic. In the kitchen, an older lady cooks, who understands her work. Absolutely good. We like to come back!
Have Paella eaten, were very satisfied. It tasted very good. The prices are also pretty good. Restaurant has come in the years, but also not to search, but to eat. All in all, we're back.
Simple equipment, but very appealing, because typical Spanish restaurant. The food was very good, there is passion in the kitchen. I can recommend everyone.
