We went for my birthday. This restaurant is known for their service and it was great. Finally a real Italian dining restaurant in Mona! Just wish they had carpaccio! View all feedback.
What RandallW doesn't like about Kona Pasta Co.:
The Caesar salad catch , lasagna , garlic bread and noodle dishes were good to excellent. =excellent The veal was tough, but the resotto and sauce were good. Wine prices are comparable to other venues. View all feedback.
Food was great. Service was ok, the waitress was nice but she didn’t check on us for almost 45 minutes to if we needed water or something else while we were waiting for our food. Maybe because it was New Year’s Eve?
Great service! I asked for something not on the menu (spaghetti bolognese) and they were able to accommodate and it was delicious!
At 7:30, they were out of the entrees we wanted. Then we were told they'd sold their last salad, the last one left on the menu, after we ordered it. Fifteen minutes later, we were told they'd run out of my girlfriend's pasta order. She changed her order, which arrived 15 minutes after mine. The noodles on both were over done. The waiter was very nice and comped our Lillikoi crème brûlée, which was excellent! Drinks were good, too!
NYE dinner...reservation for two at 6:30 p.m. We were seated at approximately 6:15 p.m., upstairs/outside lanai...beautiful view! Greeted about 10 15 minutes later, advised by server of items that were already out of stock and that the kitchen was slow, so we immediately placed our order. (The server could be heard telling the other guests the same thing about the kitchen. Finally received salads and bread at approximately 7:15 p.m. salads were large portions, garlic cheese bread was good, but lukewarm. At 8:15 p.m. we still hadn 't received our main entrees, and the server never came by to apologize/give status updates. At that time, a family of four (with two young children , who were seated the same time as us, got upset and started complaining to the manager. We deermined two hours was long enough and decided to leave. We explained to the hostess and then manager of what took place and offered to pay for our salads and bread, but when the manager wanted us to wait so he could look into it, we said we 've already given them two hours, so he said it was fine, and we didn 't have to pay. We really wanted to enjoy this place and give a grest review, but they made it very difficult due to the way it 's managed. Lack of staff and organization seem to be a key issue. We ended up going to Outback Steakhouse, who accommodated us (after their last call ... food was delicious and service was great!
Great service and food. I had the chicken parm and it was excellent. Plenty of gluten free options for those of you who, like us, appreciate that.
