We eat a LOT of Thai food, traveled there several times, even got engaged in Bangkok. This restaurant is the real deal! Flavors and textures were excellent, the meats were tender and juicy and there were lot of vegetables. The best Thai food we’ve had on US soil. The staff was lovely and helpful, we can’t wait to come again, probably will every week! Highly recommend for folks who truly understand authentic Thai food... View all feedback.
What Jason Palmer doesn't like about Royal Thai Cafe:
Food was good, but lacked that thai spice that I've learned to appreciate so much. I had the beef Thai salad and the sauce tasted like Italian dressing they attempted to spice up to the level I requested. My wife has the yellow curry and said the potatoes and carrots tasted like they belonged in a pot roast. They were too mushy for her liking and overpowered the curry. So glad my server recommend their oxtail fried rice. Wow, just wow.
Really good food but closed when Google says their open. UPDATE your ad when you close don't advertise you're open...Bonehead

Loved the food and atmosphere, even when the restaurant was full conversation was easy and the vibe was upbeat. There weren't quite enough servers when we visited though
Before tonight I WAS a loyal customer because I love the food here and I have twice literally crossed the ocean to enjoy my former favorite Thai food restaurant only to be disappointed because they've been closed every single time in the past two years that I've made trips specifically 1)across the ocean and 2) across the island from Hilo side to have some pad Thai, but they close on random days of the week and this last time, which was the final straw, posted a paper notice on their window but failed to update their hours on Google, so once again I wasted a plane ticket and a tank of gas for nothing. Having good food doesn't mean anything if you can't handle basic things like keeping regular business hours. Shame on you. Don't waste your time at Royal Thai, go to McDonald's.
