6/3/22 5:40 pm This was my first time trying torta Guadalajara style. Waiter made me feel unwelcome. Kept on rushing my order and every time I asked what it had inside she repeated too fast. The food is good thanks to the chef. However the waiter and service was a 0 stars. La mesera no bueno. Liz no bueno la verdad peor experiencia muy mala onda View all feedback.
The torta ahogada is delicious and the Carne En su Jugo, is so tasty and the quesadillas are marvelous, their food is full of flavor. The recipe is very authentic, I was born in Jalisco, dishes are originally from, and are traditional and perfect, Their staff is so friendly and warm. First time here with family, we all enjoy the food and this place and definitely we will come again.
This tortas ahogadas are delicious We have them at least once a month. Their Carne En Su Jugo is tasty too, full of flavor but not too spicy which is perfect for my husband and I. Recipe is very authentic, trust me I would know, I was born and raised in Mexico right next to Jalisco were this traditional dishes are originally from Their staff is so friendly and warm. I just wished they didn't close so early.
Great service and authentic and delicious food, once you try it you will keep going back, just be careful with the hot salsa for the torta ahogada.....really hot! But really good!
I was looking for a spot that had Tortas Ahogadas and when I found this spot I was very impressed and it was very affordable. Recommend for sure!
Bomb food. Woman was very friendly and answered all my questions about the menu. I don’t make it out to this area often, so I wanted to make sure to order some of the right stuff, astronaut style. She said the owner and cook of the food is from Guadalajara and that I should definitely get the OG status Torta Ahogada with Carnitas. It’s w a ton of pour over sauce, awesome bread that tasted like a cousin of sourdough maybe (I’m guessing you can’t easily source it in the US), pickled onions... I’ve had a similar torta at the Chivo truck in Santa Ana. That Santa Ana one was spicier, but this La Chiva Rayara one was very tender w bits of crisp on the carnitas, and really delicious. I will make it a point to come back here multiple times when I visit Riverside! My bro paid for the meal, and got a potato hard shelled dorado and a cheese one for each of us. Next time I’ll try their flan like dessert, a bean dorado, and I’ll get the same Guadalajara torta again!!! Support this bomb restaurant.
