One thing Italian families never do is go out to eat at an Italian ristorante I've been eyeing Chiaro for quite some time now.

My husband an myself, had finally had the opportunity to have dinner at this lovely place.

Well very impressive liitle suprise in the bush. We had a tour of winery with Jakob who makes all his wines and most without preservatives. My favourite was the Zinfadel and honey mead. The water is Artisian bore double filtered which us so clean and pure which makes the wines so smooth. Jakob suprised us as not only as the winemaker ,but also as chef. The food he made had alot of love in it. Great serves. Very tasty. He made the rye bread also which was authentic. The meals were 5 star. Jakob also collects honey from his bees. Worth buying a kilo and a bottle of honey mead with infused with herbs. I had a glass of sauvingnon blanc with my meal and asked for a glass of Zinfadel. I was given another glass of savingnon blanc. Alicia appeared quite stressed so I didn't say anything. My husband wanted dumplings on his plate instead of potatoes and was told this wasn't possible so we got a side serve of dumplings. We were told the menu was not to be changed at all. A table next to us mentioned their wine tasted different and the host became a touch defensive. This was a little tense for us as we were trying to relax and eat in peace. Jakob then came out from the kitchen and happily explained his techniques.Jakob was so relaxed and happy to chat. We just found his wife a little inflexible and uptight. Other than that our experience was enjoyable and we would return for another meal and wine.

Four of us ventured to this restaurant for lunch and enjoyed a delicious meal in lovely homely surrounds. Our meals were tasty and the portions huge. A large selection on the menu and the goulash, schnitzel and strudel were well worth the wait.
