As part of our trip to Sweden we also visited the famous ICE BAR. It's really gorgeous in here. Really EVERYTHING is made of ice! The only thing that bothers me are the prices for the drinks. It is clear that alcohol is expensive in Scandinavia and that you have to dig a little deeper into your pocket at the Ice Bar. But I find about 12€ for a cocktail that has hardly any alcohol in it and also very small is already very much. But the atmosphere compensates that again it's was really beautiful!

The bar tends to be a meeting place for the hotel staff, and we need to get to know this international group of nice people late in the evening (completely with a game of "name that song". The chiseled ice cream was an always chilled drink and the warmth of your mouth and hands personalize its shape.
Bar and hotel, located in the small village of Jukkasjärvi in northern Sweden 200 km north of the Arctic Circle, ICEHOTEL can be the epitome of ephemeral and temporal architecture. The world's first and largest hotel in snow and ice is an inhabitable work of art that takes a new form every year. The existence of the ICEHOTEL depends entirely on the climate and the river Torne, from which the 4000 tons of ice are harvested every year between March and April. Architecture is also an exhibition form. Each year, the art suites are designed and built by artists. The entire process has called about 100 people and is built between November and December.
After a look around the amazing, original IceHotel way up in the arctic circle made from the ice of a frozen lake in the vicinity, it is essential to try out their bar and get a beer poured into an ice glass!! A nice chilled out end of a day spent round the IceHotel area!
