Was alienvegan at Food For Thought Cafe a mag?
This is a cool place to go for a vegan/ vegetarian meal! The Mexican bowl (with no cheese) was delicious. It’s spacious and relaxing inside, with a few of the sculpture garden and Joshua trees. Service is very friendly. I think it could improve by adding more vegan breakfast options. View all feedback.

This is such a unique place and we absolutely loved our food eaten on the outdoor patio seated by a fountain. Everything is vegetarian or vegan and they can accommodate gluten free. So enjoyed the vegan burger which I believe was called the Vortex and was housemade served with a vegan chipotle aioli and arugula. I also had a vegan cactus soup which I believe was a special. Looking forward to returning! Updated from previous review on 2024-01-15
This is an interesting place. The retreat was designed by Loyd Wright, Frank Loyd Wrights son. The menu changes. Open Wednesday-Sunday. Always happy with their vegan food. Updated from previous review on 2023-12-31
Beautiful little cafe in a retreat space in the desert. There is a deck and gardens to sit in if you want to eat outside, which we did and it was lovely. We had just egg scrambles with hash browns and toast. They have vegan smart balance butter. The food was just pretty good but really loved the vibe overall. 100% worth a stop for a sit down meal.

There is a rotating menu always with a vegetarian and can be made vegan option. We had a salad and veg burger. I have also stopped here for tea. We are so. Glad there is another option and that the retreat center made the kitchen open to the public. Convenient to JT and YV- easy off the 62 especially westbound. Double check the hours. Also, check out their schedule of classes for meditation, yoga, and special events.
Nestled within the serene landscape of the JT Retreat Center, this charming café offers a delightful escape for food lovers. With an eclectic menu that caters to both vegetarians and vegans, guests can enjoy a rotating selection of dishes, from the hearty vortex burger to comforting coconut curry. The inviting atmosphere is enhanced by outdoor seating amidst beautiful gardens, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely meal. Patrons rave about the friendly staff and the accessibility from Highway 62. With extended hours and various wellness classes, this café is undoubtedly a must-visit destination for both nourishment and tranquility.

The restaurant features a rotating menu that always includes a vegetarian option, which can also be made vegan. We enjoyed a salad and a sweet burger during our visit. I also stopped for tea. It's great to see that there's an additional dining option available, and I appreciate that the Retreat Center has opened its kitchen to the public. It’s conveniently located for both JT and YW, easily accessible from Highway 62, primarily heading west. They have extended hours as well. Be sure to check their schedule for classes on meditation, yoga, and special events.
This is an amazing and delicious café located within the JT Retreat Center. It's open to the public and features friendly staff and an eclectic menu. We visited twice—the first time for a coconut curry lunch, and today for a complete American breakfast that included just egg, hash browns, and veggie bacon! They also serve local coffee from JT. I highly recommend this place; let's show it some love! (Updated from the previous review on October 29, 2021.)
