What User doesn't like about Scents Of Siam:
Was in the area and felt like Thai for dinner. Would recommend if your in the area but wouldn't go out of your way. Staff were friendly, first time ever eating #radishrolls I did enjoy them but they were lacking flavour, the #veganpadthai oh my god it was delicious, the only downside was that their wasn't enough and the #bananastickyrice was different, not to my liking though. The down side was they only had coke and... View all feedback.

The food here is by far the best Thai food I have had in Perth and its suburbs. It is truly authentic. When I asked the owner if the restaurant might adapt to suit local preferences, the way many Chinese restaurants sadly have done in the suburbs, he replied that he would keep to the authentic taste. In my opinion, the prices are so very reasonable the regulars and true Thai food lovers will keep coming. The locals will hopefully learn to like authentic Thai food. My partner and I lunched there 3 time in two weeks - the food was that good. There were 10 starters priced at $6 and 8 mains priced at $13.50. We selected from the list of mains. My favourite dish was Kha-nom-jeen-nam-prik (Rice noodle with mung bean coconut sauce). It was a feast for the eyes as well as for the palate. The fried vegetables were both a garnish and accompaniment, and they reminded me of both Japanese vegetable tempura and Indian pakora. Not a spicy dish, but 2 fried chillis provided the option, which I happily snacked on with the noodles. My partner's favourite was Khao-soi (Egg noodle with coconut curry broth and a choice of chicken or beef - he picked beef). The meat was very well braised and some crispy egg noodles provided an arty garnish - another feast for the eyes ? Two rice favourites were Khao-pad-sup-pa-rod (Pineapple fried rice) and Khao-pad-kra-prow-seafood (Chilli basil seafood fried rice). Both dishes were well presented with the pineapple rice in a stack with the char grilled pineapple slice and fried egg on top, and the chilli basil rice in a cone. For me the chilli basil rice is a real killer as far as spiciness is concerned. Two slices of cucumber provided some relief. More slices definitely required here.Service was friendly. Danny explained that the chef was Thai and the dishes were typically what one can find in Bangkok. There was no dessert menu. Happily the restaurant is BYO, no corkage.
Was on holiday in Perth n surprised to find this wonderful joint in Joondalup area. The owner is a pure Singaporean who took time to explain all the stories of the individual dishes we sampled. His partner is a warm and friendly Thai lady who whipped up all the delicious food for us.Price is very reasonable n good was very good indeed!I will definitely visit them again next year if I visit Perth again! Highly recommend those who love Thai food! Their beef n vegetable puff is a must!!Enjoy!
Firstly the aged man controlling the shop was not from Thailand. He pretended to be a Singaporean before he made a slip of the tongue to be Chinese. Of course no one would worry about that lie - given that he had shown a better temper. It was quite obvious that the aged Chinese guy, who opened this restaurant, was quarreling with his young Thai girlfriend today when I went there for lunch. No one else was there and no one answered the front desk bell from 1 meter away, until I pressed the bell for 7 times. Neither sorry nor explanation from him. (I did not complain) When he came from 1 meter away, he said he broke the EFPTOS machine just now, so that I needed to pay for cash. I searched for the cash and when I put the money on the table he began to scream 'you rude girl why do not hand it in to me'. I pretended not to hear it and he shouted for four times. Finally I got upset and while asking the cash back to leave the restaurant, he went crazy and even pointing at me with his finger, trying to threaten me, saying that he and I are Chinese (God bless, I am Not, although I am from east Asia as well), and what he did this is Australian culture. It is quite good experience. God bless that Australian culture is not like that. I know some of Chinese restaurants in China are like that, but they are 'bad apples' in China, not recommended in anywhere including China. Well, sorry for saying good bye to the shop. The girl from Thailand is kind. But it is not a restaurant for an educated person.
