What User doesn't like about Roots:
Great restaurant, however it took a lil too long while not being that busy to receive our order. We waited bout 45 minutes for 2 burgers w fries. I could see if they were just really busy but was not. Staff was very friendly, basically one person was running the dining area and must had one cook for the long wait time on food. I highly recommend Roots! The unique dishes offer a refreshing change for a town like Jonesboro, and if you're not in the mood to try something new, they have an extensive burger menu. The drinks are not only flavorful but also beautifully crafted, served in charming glassware.
The food tastes just as delicious as it did under the previous owners. Excellent!
The quality of the food has declined since the original owners and chefs departed. While the atmosphere remains delightful and our waitress provided excellent service, the food itself was disappointing. The pork schnitzel was devoid of flavor, the grits tasted sour, the gravy was overly salty, and the apple onion jam lacked excitement.
I hesitated to write this review because I've heard good things about this restaurant, but I don't know if they were having a bad night or wanted to discourage certain people from eating there. To make a long story short, I had the crab cakes and kale salad. They were very overcooked and ridiculously small which meant I could only enjoy a tiny center of the crab cake. I added the shrimp on the side as the crab needed the extra flavor. Unfortunately the 4 small shrimp swimming in oily sauce was not enough. I would have heavily used a salt and pepper shaker had there been one on the table. The meal included a kale salad. It was lightly dressed with a too)sweet vinegarette. My husband had the salmon, which wasn't too bad, but suffered through a heaping mound of flavorless risotto for his side dish. Again, I hesitate to speak poorly about any restaurant, but I want to warn you before you drop a Franklin and a Grant $150) and leave hungry.
In my top ten favorite restaurants of all time! What a fantastic place for a date or anniversary or anything.Everything was perfect.Great atmosphere.Friendly staff.Street parking only.
