Chicken wings were perfectly crispy and stayed fresh until I brought them home. Pork lo mein was average. Pork fried rice was fine. Shrimp egg foo young contained shrimp to the side, ruining the flavor. Most disappointing was the fried tofu with vegetable. Heavy on the green pepper with no tofu. View all feedback.
What Cynthia Sonntag doesn't like about House Of Kai:
I ordered two sushi items for delivery (I am wheelchair bound at home), and the courier left it outside on the sidewalk in the heat. Never brought it to my door, never knocked. Don't buy here. View all feedback.
Tried this for first time. Very pleased with our food! Store front steers a person away from wanting to order food from there but we were pleasantly surprised! Will definitely order again! Had sesame chicken and the subgum chicken chowmein was very enjoyable! The cream cheese wontons were light and delicious!

I believe it was last spring we had went in to get our favorites. This restaurant has always been a favorite of mine so I followed them when they made the move to EP. They have been closed for a bit but I did not think much of it. I guess I should have. The food tastes like Frozen stuff that came from Costco. Most of it went in the garbage. It was awful. I decided to do some research today in hopes of going there for lunch. Thought to myself maybe it was just a flute, or maybe they had went on vacation and had someone filling in for them ?. From what I'm reading it sounds like I'm wrong and I don't think I'll spend money again ?

We have been coming here a long time. I know owners have changed. Well guess what so did the food... we have tried three times now. Food tastes funky. Celery is over cooked or they use canned vegetables. They put the food in flimsy plastic containers then they over fill so you spill it opening. Chow mein like soup. We just can't go back, it feels like they are trying to do their own thing from what their siblings did who use to own it. Just go back to the recipe with no short cuts. Had to toss all the food. We used the restaurant for my father in law's funeral 2 1/2 years ago, people from all over city drove here to get the chow mein after that. Not anymore! Sad cause it is so close to our house. Maybe bring previous owners back for more cooking classes...
