For 30 plus years I have eaten and had libations at Murphys and I think every single time I was greeted by the owner. Not in many places does that happen. This is not a franchise, it stands for the hard work and dedication that this town was built on. You get the sense that you are back in the hey dey of the mills when you stop by as everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming and unassuming. There is not a word I can say that describes Murphys but there aren't enough words to say how good it is.

We anticip... read more On Tuesday, we arrived at 11:45 AM and found the entire dining room empty, allowing us to play classical music on our phone without bothering anyone. We anticipated the local workforce would show up for lunch, but that didn’t occur. My partner is a huge fan of Murphy’s gigantic wings, so we make a point to visit from State College every now and then. This time, I decided to break from our usual routine and ordered a pizza, which turned out to be fantastic. I definitely recommend ordering more food than you think you'll need for some generous leftovers!

While their wings are famously exceptional, I’ve ventured beyond them after multiple visits and found every dish just as impressive. Highlights for me include the Philly Salad and the Pizza Steak Hoagie. From the moment you walk in, the welcoming and friendly staff make you feel right at home, giving off a warm, “Cheers”-style atmosphere. The restaurant is clean and family-friendly, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal or a drink. Murphy’s is definitely a place worth visiting.
