Huge range of c... read more Solid four stars for Shimla! Been in Johnstone for years and although it feels a bit cavernous and empty for dining in, they do great takeaways. Huge range of curries, etc and all really well made with a decent meat content. I don't find them greasy but I do tend to go for curries that may have a veg/meat mix to them. Chicken Pakora is gluten free yay! but just note, you get a smaller portion of that compared to the vegetable pakora. Although I don't live locally anymore, anytime we are having a celebratory curry in the family, then this is our go to place.

The st... read more Took the family for a meal here tonight, it was probably the worst meal I have ever had. We ordered one meal from the main menu and four from the buffet. The starters were dull and cold, they forgot about the main from the menu and the buffet mains were also dull and cold. It was, quite honestly the worst food I have had in ages. We did complain, it fell on deaf ears. The bill was exorbitant, how they got to one hundred pounds for this amazed us.

The food is good, if slight... read more Shimla Pinks is a nicely decorated modern restaurant in Johnstone, which itself has a good range of restaurants and takeaway places. The food is good, if slightly on the greasy side (I think they can overdo the oil/ghee in their curries) and is slightly more expensive than other indian restaurants in the area, especially for takeaway. They do good buffet nights which are good value as you get a good selection of dishes to choose from. This is a good place to come for a night out with a group of friends or a family occasion, but maybe a bit to expensive on the takeaway front) Staff are friendly and get to know you very quickly and are extremely welcoming.
