I am so glad I found this restaurant. It is my favorite mexican restaurant in the Des Moines area. I have tried many and none were as good as here. Food is excellent, service is quick, and always a busy place. View all feedback.
What JK S doesn't like about El Mariachi:
Food was decent, margaritas weren't very strong but good. Once the food was served to our large group (20ish) didn't see the waitress again until everyone was pretty much done eating, and that was to ask about boxes. This group goes there once a month so I decided to go with, wasn't all that impressed. Would only return because of my group, not on my own. View all feedback.

I waited over an hour, only to be informed that my order had been canceled. Getting a refund was a hassle. The food was decent, but the customer service was terrible.
I was really disappointed with my recent experience. I ordered a taco salad that had a lot of bland boiled beef, some lettuce, and just a slice of tomato on top, along with a dollop of sour cream. I was shocked at how tasteless it was. I've been here many times and have always enjoyed their food and service! I've even had the taco salad before and it was much better. I'm wondering if they're cutting costs? Despite this, I would still highly recommend this fantastic Mexican restaurant!
The restaurant offers a clean and welcoming atmosphere. The service is prompt, and the food is excellent.
We recently moved from the South Side, where our favorite Mexican restaurant was Primos, to Beaverdale. After trying a few places, I believe we've found our new Mexican restaurant on this side of town.
