Squeeze-in Deck - John Day
Squeeze-in Deck
Description
A cozy, rustic breakfast spot a short detour off the highway, Squeeze In earns praise for consistently excellent morning fare, attentive staff, and gluten-free options. Diners laud standout omelettes, Monte Cristo, and reliable service for families and large groups, plus a lively bar area with wine and video poker. Occasional inconsistency and a fly problem were noted, and staff shortages are acknowledged, but honesty and customer care — even returning lost cards — underline its neighborhood charm.

I was very pleased with Squeeze-in Restaurant. I went with a pretty good sized group last Sunday and the team that they had working did a great job. They were busy all morning and then I am sure that when our group showed up It didn't help. When we showed up the waitresses were cheerful. The waitress we got you could tell has had a long day but was still professional. She reminded me of my Grandma. It was surprising but refreshing that she was straight forward and mater of fact. The food came out in a timely manner and it was good.
The food is excellent, and there are lottery machines in the back. It's a charming little restaurant!
At first, it felt a bit strange to grab a menu and find my own seat, but the staff was professional and attentive to the customers' needs. I enjoyed the Monte Cristo, while the other dish was just okay.
