We were greeted welcomingly at the door, and warned there would be an hours wait for mains to be served (which seemed a bit odd because I've been there a lot busier than that before and got served quicker). We got drinks and entrees pretty quick, and were more than happy to have a few extra drinks whilst waiting. When the food did come out, the serving sizes more than made up for the wait, with most of the group unab... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mario's Mineshaft Restaurant and Bar:
We arrived on a busy Saturday night and were seated. Then we waited for an hour and a half for 2 poor quality caesar salads and one fettucine marina. The caesar salad had old bacon, stale croutons and was served without egg and the fettucine was terrible. A completely bland and tasteless dish not made with fresh produce. The owner was unapologetic and stated we would still be charged for the dish. He obviously does n... View all feedback.
Next time I am in Jindabayne you will be my first stop whether morning, noon or evening. Such a nice place and that chimney in the middle of the restaurant makes it cosy and warm. Plenty of places to sit however the restaurant is normally full.Plenty of food options to choose from and also choices for kids. Desserts great and generous servings. I especially loved the vegetarian pizza which tasted like a genuine Italian pizza. My kids took the stake and chicken schnitzel and was more than what they could handle. We were there on a Friday evening and the place was more than half full. I can imagine how it might be on a Saturday evening.Staff friendly and the manager or probably owner is there to greet you when you enter into the place.Parking can be a bit of a hassle as you will most probably park far away. Nice walk in front of the shops though.

Do yourself a favor and never visit this restaurant. The food is overpriced and the owners attitude a disgrace.
My family and I used to dine here every year when we came down to the snow. Haven't been here in years and reading the reviews we weren't sure to eat here or not. We did.snd wasn't too bad. They stuffed up our Garlic pizza entree and brought our mains out. We cancelled that order. The dough is amazing but flavours on the pizza could of been better. I shared tandoori pizza. All it was chicken, cheese and abit of yoghurt. That was it? And the meat rush. The chicken was dry and boiledStill tasted ok but wasn't the best pizza Ive had. And yes it's overpriced but nearly everything in Jindy is.
We have been to mario's on several trips to the snow. But this trip highlighted what others have told me the past. The food was over priced and we got poor service. We rang as we drove down from the mountain hoping to sit near to the open fire. We were told we "don't hold tables". So ok.. No problem. We arrived about 15 minutes later to find the restaurant nearly empty. So we asked to be seated near the fire and we were place "as close as possible" which was about 10 tables away. No one was sitting at any of the tables around the fire so we asked to move closer. They helpfully moved us one table closer. Thanks for nothing. The whole time we were there no one came and sat at any of the tables around the fire. The service was awful and we had to ask for a drinks 3 times.. which seems like a lot when you have 3 serving staff and only four tables of guess. They were not busy at all. The food was over priced and not great. The staff took 35 minutes to give us the bill. Overall awful, don't waste your time going there!!
Every year, the kids expect at least one dinner at Marios when we coming skiing. This year we came twice... One tip is the portions are huge. Even the pasta dishes serve two adults if you have an entree or we share a garlic pizza.A lovely finishing touch is toasting marshmallows in the open fire.
