What Anonym dislikes about Flap's:
Conveniently located to one of the security checkpoints, it would be a great option for anyone wanting to eat with family and friends before catching a flight. Unfortunately the service is substandard and slow. Good luck trying to get your server to bring you something, ours went MIA several times during our breakfast. Beware of the cover charge in your bill. View all feedback.

It is conveniently located close to the exit for international flights. It looks clean and attracts customers. On Nov 30,2015 around 3:30 PM, my husband, some friends and I got together at Flapps for lunch. Server # 1 approaches and rushes us to order. He gets upset because we take time to decide. We ordered non alcoholic drinks first. I order a cactus Juice (green) I got an orange juice. The waiter was rude and arrogant. Waiter # 2 takes our orders, and changes my juice for the correct order. I indicated that did not like the attitude of waiter # 1. Food was average. At the time of paying, I was informed that my credit card was declined. I provided a 2nd card, and payment went through, not only that, waiter # 2 charged $ 99 pesos as tip without my permission. I protested and his answer was that I had instructed to add the tip. As you can see, you will be ripped off anyway. I was charged $ 37 USD in the declined credit card, and $ 56 in the accepted card. Please REVIEW YOUR TICKET before paying with a credit card or with cash. This restaurant should not functioning under these conditions. Once you step in you are at your own risk. Staff does not seem to be interested on providing a good service, they are rude and arrogant. Staff is not aware that with their attitude they are running away customers, creating these kind of reviews. Why should I go back to a place like this? They know that customers are just passers by, traverlers, and assume that they will not be back.

We ate a family dinner at this place "Flaps", right in front of the security gate for outgoing International flights at the Mexico City airport. The food was good, no problem there. When the bill came, the waiter claimed that the "machine had broken" so he had to create the bill by hand. All of the prices in his hand drawn bill were inflated; each item cost more than the price in the menu. The total added up to more than even the sum of individually inflated items. What should have been 350 pesos became 650 pesos (a difference of about US $20). I told the manager the bill was wrong. He agreed that the bill was wrong, but demanded that I pay it anyway. We had to run out to make a flight, so we could not afford to argue. I paid the inflated bill, but I am putting this review in Trip Advisor so that other travelers will know better.Right next door to Flap's is the American Express airport lounge, which is wonderful. If you have an American Express card, go there.
