Cayenne Nashville Hot Chicken

I am a big fan of the chef behind this restaurant. Did you know she used to work at Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill? It’s clear she has a great understanding of spices, and it really shows in her dishes! The chicken sandwiches here are outstanding.

I was pretty disappointed with my experience. Given that this restaurant specializes in chicken, I expected much better quality than what I received. The chicken patty was reminiscent of what you might find at McDonald's or Wendy's—it was soft and lacking the crispiness I hoped for, similar to a McChicken. The breading didn't seem to retain its crunch, making it less enjoyable for those who like a crispy texture on their chicken sandwiches. Instead, it felt a bit mushy and overly soft, which might not appeal to those who prefer a firmer, juicier chicken. The bun was also on the verge of falling apart. Additionally, the chicken sandwich was on the smaller side. As for the onion rings, they were just average—nothing special at all. They do provide a generous portion, which somewhat justifies the price, but overall, I left feeling underwhelmed.

I was in the mood for some delicious southern fried chicken and stumbled upon Cayenne, and I’m so glad I did! The chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside and incredibly tender on the inside, and the spicy kick is just right. They definitely didn’t disappoint!
