Cafe Madelaine - Jersey City

I was really looking forward to my meal after reading so many positive reviews. However, when my order arrived, the French toast was dry and didn’t even taste like French toast. They mentioned adding fresh strawberries, but what I got was frozen ones served in a cup, which was incredibly disappointing. Overall, it was not a great breakfast experience. I’m left wondering if I received the wrong dish or what happened.

The croissants here are the best! I always have to order three different kinds of them.

The ham and cheese croissant didn’t quite hit the mark. I’m not sure if there was too much cheese or if it was slightly undercooked, but the interior felt quite mushy.

Bakeries are definitely overnight. Not fresh at all.

This café is charming and offers plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. The food is delicious, but I've noticed that the dough on the bottom of the baked goods is often undercooked. This has happened to me at more than four different visits, so I felt it was important to mention it in my review.
