Food was pretty good. If you go at a busy time be prepared to wait a while for your food to arrive. Seems like they could use some more staff.

I’m trying to think of something good but unfortunately I can’t. We left really disappointed and upset we spent $45 on lunch after being stoked to try it. Easiest description would be bland and extreme lack of umami. Which for a Japanese restaurant was surprising. We got the combo with kenchinjiru (soup), an extra onigiri, the grilled shio koji'd mushroom potatoes. For a gaijin that’s been to Japan a lot. And been to most Japanese restaurants in PDX. Ordered the combo, great variety for a good price. Also really appreciated the online ordering option for dine in, very convenient.

Hmm well, it’s not terrible. It’s just not good. It really doesn’t have the complex umame filled flavor pallets that are associated with Japanese food. I was really hopeful that this would be a nice shokudo. I’m pretty disappointed. The rice balls are pretty good. My complaint is pretty similar to allot of vegan food in Portland. I'm in love! The freshness, good vibes, delicately planned prepared. I had the combo added stew a sake. Flavorful but not overdone, variety of textures, beautiful presentation, well balanced meal. This is a solid 5 stars
