Momiji Sushi Restaurant — Barbur

Edit 11/20: last few times I’ve had super yummy cucumber salad! Thank you for fixing that. Fresh sushi and tastes great, but the cucumber salad needs a little help. It isn’t very fresh.

Ok listen I don't give any reviews but my family and I are absolutely in love with Momiji. We typically order the salmon and yellowtail nigiri, and it is always fresh and tasty. It is easily the best sushi in south/sw Portland, maybe minus Murata but your not paying an arm and a leg. Secret recommendation: order the sesame ball and save for a warm gooey dessert!

The sushi is fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced. During the winter plan on take out as the indoor seating is limited and cramped. In the summer the outdoor seating is fine although the noise from Barbur Blvd detracts a bit. The counter staff (where you order) are helpful,, friendly, and seem to know the menu very well. A nice experience overall.

My go to sushi spot. Reliable, good deals, friendly people.

If you're a plant based eater like my partner is, avoid this place. We have visited this particular location multiple times over the past several months. We've called ahead letting them know to seperate veggie foods from my fish foods, we've called ahead asking for seperate orders, we have also placed orders online and notified them of fish allergies and they ALWAYS mix my fish rolls with my partner's plant based food.
