My wife decided on the Jambalaya from Matt Memere's, and was kind enough to share it with me, as her serving made for a generous lunch. When I visit a new (to me) spot with New Orleans food, I have a hard time predicting whether the it will be pleasantly spicy and flavorful, or just hot for the sake of being hot. What Callie S doesn't like about Matt And Memere's:
I love the food. I'm a Louisiana girl. The food is great. However, I can rarely find them open when I go (like tonight, its my best friend's birthday, and its all she wanted…they close at 8:00, and I went to order on GrubHub, but it says they'd closed at 6:00. This has happened twice before. So disappointing! View all feedback.

Once a lost Cajun, I now am found. The fried oyster po'boy, with fat oysters and nice crusty French bread, was perfectly dressed. I also ordered red beans and rice, intending to bring them home to eat with dinner. They didn't survive lunch. Super friendly service, and their array of hot sauces to complement your meal was also great. I'll be back soon.
Finally was able to grab a plate here and I will definitely be back. Catfish was crispy and the hot sauce variety is the cherry on top.
Update 10/15 — So f-ing good it hits your g spot, I swear. I'm pretty sure I annoyed my wife to the point of divorce as every bite had me moaning more than I ever have.; best. Food. Ever. Jambalaya, sausage Po'boy, cajun potato salad, these blackberry desert things.. unbelievably delicious, literally. THE best jambalaya I've ever had. Throw some sour cream in the mix and you have one of the greatest meals…i wish they were open 24/7 lol
The best Jambalaya I’ve had outside of New Orleans! Wow such wow. 10/10 stars!!
