Higgins is the original farm-to-table restaurant in Portland. The food is great! We come here every once in a while for special occasions. The service is really good too, particularly if you measure by whether your water glass stays full. You will likely need a reservation, though you could get lucky and be seated without one. I asked to see the staffs vaccine passports along with their IDs and, I was surprised when they told me, that is private information. I told them I wouldn’t use the information for any purpose other than to monitor their medical status and general health level. Apparently it’s none of my business… so interesting, It’s theirs. The food was fine, but way too over priced for the little food that they give you. Also, everything took forever.
Disappointing! Two friends of mine were visiting from California and I took them to Higgins. We ordered Salad of Winter Greens, Cioppino and filet mignon. Salad had almost no dressing. Cioppino was salty and lacked any taste. An 8 ounce filet mignon was $65 and had two green stems on the side! Cocktails were mostly ice and syrup so we asked for apple martini. I just LOVE Higgins. Absolutely as I will always remember this wonderful restaurant. I am a perineal fan. Food is amazing. Service is exceptional. I am so happy to see it open and functioning and hope to feel successful.
