I love to come here at the same time or meet with language exchange partners. as others have commented, the kitchen is not always open – they will eat in the evening, but only when left to lunch. until midday or 12:30 o'clock, or they will sell from the good quality. super relaxed, all veggie and mostly vegan, inexpensive. eating is simple and utilitarian, but always satisfying. What Zakary Hilpert doesn't like about Wagner e.V.:

The place was very difficult to find, as the numbering of the street was quite confusing and there was no sign for the caffe at all. but somehow we went on a staircase and then, although a tor and then on more steps and finally we found a door that we went through, so finally we were in, but we were not safe until the last moment. the place is very cozy and quiet. we ordered a sweet soup with cocos milk (for 3.2 euro) and the pornstars they had left for 4 o'clock (for 3.8 euro), but we have seen on the board that they were at least 6-7 during the day and all were vegan. the portions are enormous. the suppe had great aromen, but the sweet was a bit overboiled, the main was a little tasteless and overdone. we also tried a apricot cheese cake that was fabulous. it is a real shade that we have found a vegan-friendly place in such a small city as jena. eating was not the best I can imagine, but with the place that was so cozy and cheap, we were very happy what we had. updated by previous review on Thursday, 08 December 2011
I felt right after home. at my first visit I had a sound tapas style salat at a totally fair price (there is also a discount for students.) my girlfriend had a juicy cake. they should note that it is more a bar lunch and that eating could be sold in the evening. we came back a few days for a Cumbia/mestizo party, but we only had a few drinks. I can recommend the local rhubarb spray.
I should have listened to merciless666s review and simply assumed that it would be closed immediately. When we arrived there, there was a sign that there were renovations for the next three weeks and the place was temporarily closed, which really disappointed us, as we had previously visited their website and there was no information about it at all. it seems that it is part of its method. but I will try again if I ever come back to jena.
I went there twice with 2 years inbetween. everytime the kitchen was closed, or the whole thing was under renovation. is there somebody who ever had food there?
