Review under the circumstances of the restrictions due to the coronavirus. Delicious roulade, seasonal asparagus dishes, pancakes with berry compote, beer and wheat beer, a delicious Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa, friendly and attentive staff, for a completely justified, decent price, in a traditional restaurant... What more could you want!? 09/2024 Roulade still top-notch. And the Bacchus is delicious.
The kitchenette is very spartan—just one glass, no cups, and barely any cutlery or cooking utensils. That's too little. The price is reasonable. Toilet paper and towel dispensers are a nuisance. It's quite noisy in the mornings due to delivery and bus traffic. Central location. It's doable if you're on a budget. The restaurant is good!
I asked a server for the menu, but they simply ignored me. Even after some time, no one approached me, so I left the restaurant. Whether it was due to disrespect or some other reason (racism), I don't know – in any case, it was a very disappointing experience. Several servers saw me and actively ignored me. I don't think you need to know German to see that a customer is there. You should feel welcome in a restaurant.
A lovely traditional restaurant where you can still get good home-cooked food and delicious Thuringian dumplings. Close to the Goethe Gallery.
If you enjoy history, this is a beautiful hotel. The oldest hotel in Jena. Right in the city center. Our room was spacious. But we don't have high expectations. There is Wi-Fi. Next to the beds are USB B and C ports, as well as a power outlet. Plenty of options to properly charge your phone. The staff is friendly and helpful.
