The atmosphere was pleasant and the entertainment was enjoyable, though it concluded a bit earlier than I'd hoped. The food was excellent, and the outdoor setting was lovely. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Jekyll Island Seafood Company:
Eating is inspiring. we ate here two nights in a row based on the restaurants near our hotel. the positive is that the exterior are really beautiful and service was attentive and fast. the children's menu and eating are good. the rest of the food is disappointing. the fishtacos ordered and the fish share were tiny and did not appear fresh. we also ordered salat with salmon and we believe that the salmon was a frozen... I wasn't impressed by the food or service. I don't think it was much of a seafood place. Menu looked like mostly south.
Wasn't busy, but we had reservations. Pretty place overlooking the sand. Nice outside deck. Food was excellent. Staff very friendly and attentive. Has a bar.
Nice location next to the Westin; Food very uninspired, and high priced for the quality. Good with kids as you are on the beach front square...but too many better locations. Also part of a group of retaurants. Servers not invested in their job and it was obvious
Food good. Service fair. Server attentive but appetizers, soups and salads all served at same time. Crab and corn chowder excellent.
I saw online this resto was dog friendly (which is great! so we brought our two Yorkies. I called just to make sure and was told yes outdoor dining only (which is the norm on island . We showed up and were told we had to eat out front along the restaurant windows vs in the back on the outdoor patio. They have a few small tables out front all were dirty and surrounded by cobwebs at the base. Not terribly appetizing but ok. We ordered starters of peel and eat shrimp plus the crab dip...service was super slow (it was July 4th and busy so we totally get it . Server comes out after a while and says they were sold out of crab (and one entree too . We then got the calamari basket which was good. Ended up calling it a day after that. Did use the restroom and ended up inside the resto which was busy. I’m sure they were doing the best they could considering the holiday. Overall this seems like a good place for families but I wouldn’t rush back myself. It would be helpful if their dog policy was more clear upfront!
