Mountain Dick's Pizza - Jay
Mountain Dick's Pizza
Description
Tucked inside Jay Peak Hotel, this small, casual pizzeria delivers crisp thin-crust pies—often loaded with meats—and fast, friendly service ideal for resort guests. Prices are reasonable and orders are typically ready quickly, though peak times bring crowds. Expect limited seating, modest salads, and a self-serve vibe; some diners report inconsistent toppings, occasional saltiness and cleanliness issues. Great for skiers, families and waterpark visitors seeking a hot, satisfying takeout or quick meal, but not a stand‑alone destination for gourmet pizza or late-night delivery.

I went into this restaurant with low expectations after seeing all the negative reviews on Yelp. Given that there's no competition in the isolated area of Jay, VT, I lowered my expectations even further. However, I was pleasantly surprised—it's actually quite good, in my opinion. I ended up going back for more on consecutive nights! I have no complaints about the pizza. Don't hesitate; give it a try!
I ordered takeout for a big group and I had very low expectations because of the poor reviews but it really wasn't bad at all. I found the pizzas with toppings to be pretty tasty. The food was ready for pickup when they said it would be. The person who took my order over the phone was polite. I would say, its not amazing pizza where I'd come to Jay Peak because of the pizza but if you're at Jay Peak and you're in the mood for pizza, this is totally adequate.
Fast, decent service, and good food for kids. This is the go-to quick meal spot for families.
Pizza itself isn't bad. Stingy in toppings. Check your order before you bring your food away!! This isn't the first time topping have been changed up on us. Busy at peak hours. Service: Takeaway Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $1–10 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
I have eaten pizza all across this nation, and as far as the plain cheese served here I would rate it as a 2.5 star out of 5. It's not bad just not great, as it lacks almost any real flavor. Both the cheese and sauce are lackluster. The meat lovers pizza is good and would give it a rating of 3.5 out of 5. Overall I do believe that it is overpriced for the size and quality of the pizza, (in fairness the remoteness of the shop may partially justify the cost) the staff were nice and it's a cool little restaurant space. Overall I would skip. Not bad not great.
