Corner Cafe - Jarrell
Corner Cafe
Description
Tucked inside a gas station in Central Texas, this tiny, no-frills cafe is a beloved hidden gem known for old‑school diner fare — outstanding burgers, fried catfish, schnitzel plates, German potatoes, crispy tots or curly fries and house desserts. Portions are generous, prices fair, and the staff is generally friendly, though seating is limited (about eight tables) and meals are cooked to order. Popular enough that patrons drive long distances, it’s hampered only by limited weekday/lunch hours and occasional online-hours inaccuracies.

This is a small 5 table hole in the wall at a gas station. The chicken fried steak dinner is phenomenally good. Nice owner too.
Good gracious the food we got from the Corner Cafe was absolutely delicious. Portions were satisfying and quality was top notch. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.
I've only tried the burgers, and they're fantastic! You can’t go wrong pairing them with some classic tater tots. Just a heads up, the restaurant is located inside a gas station, so it might be a little tricky to find.
The seating area was calm, and the staff were friendly and relaxed, creating a less hurried atmosphere compared to Denny's.
