A simplistic menu with plenty of variety and all plant based and a cosy vibe to sit with friends or on your own reading a book. I went everyday for the first week they were open to try all their delicious soups! I highly recommend the Venezuelan black beans and the pumpkin soup! If you have any space at the end of your meal make sure to try their amazing vegan cakes! I definitely recommend a visit to Lulos Restaurant during your stay in Jardin!

Just follow Google Maps and it will take you right th... read more I was staying in the eastern part of town so I only had to walk less than a mile to get to the restaurant. Just follow Google Maps and it will take you right there. It's a light to moderate grade uphill when going to the restaurant. It is a dirt and rock road but even though it had rained constantly the night before the road had dried out by noon when I walked to the restaurant. During the walk to and from the restaurant I only encountered three or four motorcycles and two or three other people walking... It's a fairly quiet walk. There is a beautiful waterfall directly across the street from the entrance of the property. (Lulo's operates as the hotel's restaurant). Unfortunately when I arrived these two fairly aggressive dogs came running at me while barking and walked around me (continuing to bark) while I stood still. That was very unfortunate because it was the only thing that marred an otherwise pleasant visit. The lady who waited on my table was very nice and personable; I think she only speaks Spanish. I got the meal of the day which was a bowl of  cream of squash soup and the main plate contained hummus, falafel, a salad, and white rice. This main plate is pretty standard in vegetarian restaurants so I wouldn't classify this as haute cuisine but the food was good and flavorful. It also came with a glass of Lulo juice. I wish there had been some actual vegetables on the plate such as broccoli cauliflower carrots celery etc. They also have a menu which you can look at by scanning their QR code but I just got the main meal of the day which in April 2022 costs 20.000 pesos. Interesting that the previous reviewer said they charged him only 17.000 pesos for the meal of the day 3 weeks ago. So they may be charging based on your appearance. Currently the restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays post pandemic, but that could change as tourism picks up. It's a good idea to call in advance and make sure they are open before you walk here. Updated from previous review on 2022-04-20

They gave me a cryptic answer and then when I asked for the menu they never replied. Instead we got a taxi there for lunch the next day and on arrival the lady said they couldn’t do lunch…. Ended up walking back to town disappointed. Maybe if you call or message beforehand you may have more luck.
