I had pulled pork and baked beans. The port was extremely tender and flavorful, with no noticeable chunks of fat or overcooked trim. The baked beans came with three different types of beans and was marinated in a vegetable, vinegar, and spice concoction that rendered it slap-yo-mama good. Prices are high. And, normally I would deduct a star. But, the excessively good food experience will make the price well worth it to some. Seating is quite limited for the space. This is a bonus if you appreciate roomy dining. And, parking is even more limited. So, plan to carpool and wait if you're coming with a large group or visiting during busy hours.

When the food is good, it’s excellent. But they are not always consistent. More fresh options and vegetables. Adding salads would be an easy fix and include meat as an up charge. Take a look at midwoods menu for good salad ideas.

Black Powder Smokehouse catered our wedding a few weeks ago! We had never heard of them before our wedding venue recommended them as a vendor, and we are so glad we went with them! The pulled pork/chicken, Gouda Mac-n-cheese and sides are all delicious!! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The catering service at our wedding was friendly and quick with set-up/clean-up. All the guests raved about the food too! Highly recommend their catering for any large event!

Had to take my buddy to Black Powder Smokehouse for some brisket, mac cheese, pork rinds. It was awesome. My friend said it was the best BBQ he's had in NC. He also got the banana pudding and said it was fantastic. I'm ready to go back again!Parking: Small parking lot. Hard to find a spot because they're busy. Worth the trouble though!!!

The food is good, the staff are nice, I like the atmosphere of the place, but the parking kinda sucks. Wild how I live close to here but never tried for over a year.It's kinda pricey and portions seem kinda meh so that's the reason for my 4 star rating. There is also something about it that makes it pass through my body and I haven't quite figured it out because everything seems cooked properly, so its probably just me and I don't knock them for it.Definitely give this place a try if you like BBQ.
