A fantastic bar in Five Points! What’s not to love about this place? They support local artists, with the windows always adorned with their work. Inside, you’ll find a lending library and a zoo library. Rain Dogs hosts several events throughout the month, including an Old Time Jam session in the back. You can enjoy seating both indoors and outdoors. View all feedback.
What Chris O dislikes about Rain Dogs:
I visited a few Saturdays ago with friends and had a fantastic time. After enjoying a great meal at Hoptingers, we decided to head next door, where the atmosphere was lively and the drinks were excellent. So why only 3 out of 5 stars? To be honest, I deducted 2 points for how the karaoke was managed. We love singing and having fun while enjoying our drinks, but the pressure to tip for song requests really put a dampe... We love singing and having fun while enjoying our drinks, but the pressure to tip for song requests really put a damper on the experience. For example, while doing a duet, I needed two microphones, but the host told me I had to tip for that. Seriously? Shouldn't karaoke be for our entertainment rather than a way for someone to fill their pockets? In my opinion, tipping shouldn't feel like a requirement, and I think people would be more generous if the pressure were lifted.
You definitely need to visit on Fridays when Massapeal is DJing for Old School Hip Hop Night. It's a fantastic time to dance and the energy in the place is incredible. The yellow shots are delicious, too! The staff is friendly and provides excellent service.
What a distinctive place! I popped in for a cup of coffee and a quick game on their tabletop setups. There's plenty to see and discover throughout the venue. The coffee is a local brew and has a strong flavor. I appreciated the nostalgic touches, like an old cigarette machine that I haven't seen in years. They also host live music, which is a nice bonus!
About six months ago I went they hoping for another cool club. Nobody there sang for a half hour. Then I walked up to the lady host and said can you please put a song in for me. She abruptly said no, use the app. i asked her to please help me with the my phone being a only 3 percent power left, please. Next answer was for a tip. I left secretly immediately. I have since talked to others not pleased or searching for the next club ? Did she not know I am in connected with about 500 regulars because it was my first time there. Most of them thanked me in advance. It is a shame because I live 10 minutes away.
