What Brian A. Becker likes about Puerto Plata:
Extremely accomodating...sat a group of us for dinner at 8pm on a Sunday when they were closing...food is always top rated island food...simple...reasonable and someplace I am always drawn back to. View all feedback. What Bridgette Krajcik doesn't like about Puerto Plata:
Pros: Restaurant seating is outside only due to COVID, staff seem to all be wearing masks. Food was done quickly and well-packaged for to-go. Arroz con Pollo was moist and tasty. Cons: Tostones were hard, seemed to be the frozen kind. The shrimp was over-cooked and low on taste. The chicharrón de pollo was chewy. Prices on their online menu are lower than prices charged at actual restaurant. A little underwhelmed for... View all feedback.

read moreThis Puerto Rican restaurant is an absolute gem in Florida, offering top-rated island cuisine that will make you feel right at home. The arroz con pollo is moist and tasty, while the mofongo and pernil are simply unbeatable. The restaurant is extremely accommodating, with cheerful and attentive service. The portions are huge, prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is casual and inviting. The menu offers a great mix of flavors, making it a must-try for anyone looking for authentic Puerto Rican and Dominican dishes. While some dishes may have room for improvement, the overall experience is definitely worth a visit. Whether you dine in, order to-go, or use the convenient pick-up window, you won't be disappointed by the delicious food and warm atmosphere of this Jacksonville favorite.
