The food is fantastic! However, no one speaks English, so I bring my boyfriend along since he knows Spanish. The atmosphere is quite plain and the place is small, but that doesn't bother me at all. I really enjoy supporting small, family-run businesses. I highly recommend giving the food a try. Most customers usually call ahead for takeout, but I prefer to go inside so I can enjoy my food hot and check out the menu.... View all feedback.
What Nollan Zevallos doesn't like about La Palmerita Cuban Cafeteria:
While I understand that this is a Cuban restaurant, it would be great to have the option to replace the boiled yucca with fried yucca. I was really hoping for that traditional flavor (sazón) but didn’t get it with my order. Overall, I don’t think I’ll be returning to this restaurant. View all feedback.
Horrible experience cold food missing items and they gave us hotdogs instead of sausage ?
The food was very good. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was clean but the tables and chairs were not comfortable.
Placed a order today and actually watched my pork placed in the microwave ?
I lived in Miami most of my life and have always missed my food. Plenty of little places have tried, but they just don't match up. For the first time in 12 years of searching Jacksonville, I can finally say I found a place that has comparable food to La Carreta and Sergio's with a Hialeah feel. I just found my favorite eatery in Jax. GRACIAS!!!! This is a hole in the wall worth visiting, and frequently. We had hígado a la Italiana (the best I've had at a restaurant), Masitas de Puerco Fritas con moros, and ropa vieja. The yuca and platanitos were awesome, as were the frijoles negros.Este lugar no tiene desperdicio.Kid-friendliness: Family place
If you go to this place, do not leave a ticket open, they charge you extra things, be very careful
