Culhane's Irish Pub - Jacksonville

I wrote the following review after dining at the restaurant but wanted to amend it to note that within 24 hours I was contacted by the restaurant to learn more about the issue. I was impressed with the follow up, genuine apology, and complete lack of defensiveness on the part of the restaurant management and that counts for something. Here was the original review: The service was friendly, but our server could not answer basic questions about the food and had to check with the kitchen. When a member of my party double checked to make sure a dish she was considering did not contain black pepper, and the server very confidently assured her that it did not, the food came our liberally sprinkled with black pepper. I ordered fish pie which is typically topped with whipped potatoes. While I didn't really expect it to be truly authentic, it was downright awful. A soupy mix with just a bit of shrimp and fish, topped with mounds of melted cheese that hardened into a glue-like mass. One person with us ordered bangers and mash and said the sausages were not very good. To be fair, one person ordered a burger and said it was decent. This is a very noisy casual restaurant with pretty low end food. I'm unlikely to return.

The service and food were exceptional! A very fun place to have celebration dinner.

They work hard to accommodate and the place is quite clean! Service is great and always full of life in there for the Packer games! We love coming every week. Definitely give it a try if you haven’t! Everyone seems to love the food but I’m not a meat eater so I haven’t tried a lot of the menu. My family enjoys it!

Fun spot for our NYE dinner. Would def go back. Fish and chips were yummy.

Best pub food in Jax. The fish and chips is great, fried perfectly. Fish is tender and moist. Great fries too. Bartender remembers my name and my favorite drink. Love the place and will definitely revisit.
