I wanted to like this place so bad, instead of making the trip to the bay. eating here is so bad there are Indian foods a bad name. simply skip this place and go to literally any other place that comes when they are Indian food near me to google. View all feedback.
The restaurant no longer offers all the options listed in the menu description, but they still have a fantastic selection of vegetarian dishes. I tried the vegetable samosas (which came in a serving of 2) and the vegetable biryani, and both were delicious! The waitress mentioned that the biryani was free of butter/ghee and dairy. The portion size was so large that I believe I can have two more meals from the leftovers. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
This is a review of a very small restaurant located inside an Indian grocery store. The restaurant seemed to focus on takeout orders, as they were busy preparing them when we arrived. We ordered samosas, a lentil dish, an okra dish, and a naan that was supposed to be made with caramelized onions. The samosas were served first, followed by the okra dish. However, the lentil dish and the naan did not arrive together. The naan was brought out separately after we had finished the okra dish, and we noticed it had pink stuffing that did not resemble onions. We waited for the lentil dish, but it had not even been started. Eventually, my husband went to settle the bill without receiving the lentil dish. Surprisingly, the receipt revealed that the naan was stuffed with beef, contrary to what was stated on the menu. We had ordered from the vegetarian menu, so this mistake could have been avoided if the waitress had been more attentive. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and we will not be returning to this restaurant.
One of the best meals I have had in a restaurant in the past 5 years. I frequently travel for my charity work and have the opportunity to dine wherever I please. I decided to try Apna because they offered several vegan options. When I arrived, I found the Indian-Pakistani restaurant located inside a grocery store. You have the option to dine in (with 6 tables available) or take your meal to go, which is what I chose to do. The price was reasonable at $11 for a decently sized meal. For lunch, I ordered the Vegetable Vindaloo and it was absolutely delicious that I went back the next day for the same dish and also tried the Vegetable Jalfrezi for dinner. Since the Naan bread is not vegan, I ordered my meal with rice instead. I also tried some vegetable samosas, freshly fried, which were 2 for $3 on the first day and some pre-cooked ones from the grocery store the next day for $1 each. I rarely give 5-star ratings, but this restaurant exceeded my expectations with its delicious vegan options. I will definitely be returning the next time I am in town to exclusively dine here.
I loved this place! It was like taking a trip to another country. Food was very good. Not to mention you can buy authentic homemade Naan bread there, stuffed grape leaves, spices,...just overall great experience.
Absolutely! Ordered from here for the first time. It's the best Indian place I found in Jax. I ordered the palate clothing, lamb corma, chicken tiki masala. Everything's delicious. Great meat, big spices and taste. I did it. Really good price too. It's a bit far until the delivery rate was expensive, but it's absolutely worth it. This food is so fresh and delicious. I know I'll order a lot!
