Raley's - Jackson

I guess I just keep hoping this store will improve keep shopping here because I am familiar with the layout and that makes for a quick efficient stop at the store. However, I have started to look closely at expiration dates on items because l have accidentally purchased items from this store that were expired. The photo is from August 1, 2023 at this particular Raley's. Unfortunately, it is time for me and others to take our shopping elsewhere now.

Store groceries are alright but their pharmacy is the absolutely horrible. I had a problem a year ago and gave them another chance again and again. Now they lied to me. Yes, LIED. Went to get my new prescription and told me my doctor canceled it because my insurance didn't cover it. I no longer go there and YES my insurance covered it and my doctor DID NOT cancel it.

Sad to say, we have had to quit going to Raley's all the time because they refuse to get the beer my husband wants though we've made several requests. They got it at Save Mart, so we have to go there a lot now and it's pretty good overall, and I like their roast chicken better. Raley's has also fallen down on the job in their deli, unable to fry chicken due to lack of staff they told me and other problems in that department last week. Oh well, it was convenient for a while as we live nearby.

Today I phoned in a pickup order for two different sandwiches. These sandwiches are usually made with rotisserie turkey, that 's what has always been used each time I go in and order. Today I was in a hurry and decided to get them to go and just eat when I got home, 30 minutes away... I called and talked to someone who works there, probably new, but definitely didn 't sound enthusiastic about taking an order... which is fine... he probably had a long day... no worries... but after I picked up my sandwiches... drove 30 minutes home and unwrapped my sandwich and saw that instead of rotisserie Turkey... it was the sliced processed deli turkey. And both sandwiches were made with the same ingredients. Nevertheless, the sandwich was meh, I just wish it was made the way it was supposed to be. If I lived closer I probably would have brought it back. ¯ (ツ) ¯

Definitely the nicest supermarket in Amador County and my go-to. Friendly and professional staff, very well organized, not super crowded, decent prices, good selection of food and wine, items are pretty easy to find, and produce section is nicely done.
