Mcalister's Deli - Jackson

This is an absolutely fantastic place to eat! As soon as you walk through the doors, the friendly staff welcomes you and patiently waits until you're ready to order. The potatoes are phenomenal, and their sandwiches are delicious! I haven't tried their salads yet, but I'll be sure to update you when I do! I definitely recommend this place!

The Orange Cranberry Club and the Potato Salad were quite good, but not worth the 30-minute wait, especially considering there were only about three people ahead of me. The Sweet Tea was nothing special compared to what you can find elsewhere. Additionally, the lobby was cluttered with various unlabeled bottles, brooms, and other items. On the positive side, it was clean and offered a generally pleasant and quiet atmosphere. There’s also a lovely patio area outside that’s great to enjoy on nice days.

I will never return to this restaurant. One of the tall male employees leaned over to me after I had paid for my order and said, "Make sure you give us a good tip," while pointing at the screen. I've never experienced anything like this at any restaurant before.

I?ve visited other McAlister?s delis, and always enjoyed them, so when I visited a friend in Jackson, I thought I should try them again. When we got in around 11:30am, there was a line of about 5 people ahead of us, and it took quite a while to get up to order, as only one person was taking orders. They were also slowing it down by having to fill the drink orders at the same time. This could be easily fixed if they had the soda and teas where customers could help themselves. It also seemed like they tried to fill every glass with as much ice as possible, so you wouldn?t get much of an actual drink, just mostly ice. After our order was in, it took about 20 minutes to get our food, which was just way too long for a fast casual restaurant. There is actually no way you can say fast casual, but more like slow casual. Anyway, the food was ok, and had good flavor. I had their signature club, while my friend had the King Club, which had double the meat. The bread on my club seemed like it was smashed and super thin, which you may be able to tell from the attached pic. My friend?s King club did not have the same issue. It was much more a meal for sure. I had potato salad as my side which was good, though maybe just a bit too much mayo. So food not bad overall, but just way too much of a wait. Perhaps ordering through the app about 30 minutes before you get there would work to not have to wait? Oh, the line only got longer as time went on, and there were at least 8 people waiting after they had ordered, for to go orders. Maybe coke at a non busy time and you?ll have a better experience. I?m in town all week and will not be back. Too many places will give me faster service and at least as good, if not better, food.

I eat McAlister's frequently, but this was the first time I had eaten at our local restaurant recently. Unfortunately, I had the worst grilled chicken club I have ever had at a McAlister's, and it is what I eat most of the time. The sandwich had almost no flavor. Apparently, whoever prepared it forgot to put any honey mustard on it at all. Not even the bacon had much flavor. Only the pickle and potato salad were good. Had the service not been slow, I would have asked for a replacement since we were dining in. There appeared, though, to only one person preparing food, and I didn't have time to wait for another order.
