My drink, pretzel, and beer cheese deserve 5 stars. The waitress, steak, and prices get 2. Does your cooks even know what medium rare means? Apparently not that day. 4 times they couldn't get it right. Try some seasoning every now and then. Columbus foundsome, so can your cooks. Even the herbed butter had no flavor and definitely no salt. After I paid $150.00 for 4 people and 2 ofus only had one drink? No thanks and never again.
Wonderful atmosphere, great service, good food. I ordered the burger medium well/well and it was perfect. The fries could stand to be better seasoned, but the house ranch was on point for dipping. It was a Friday night, so the live music on the patio waslovely.
My friend and I had dinner before attending the performance at the Ned which is nearby. I had made reservations because I anticipated that the Blacksmith would be busy on a Saturday night. We were greeted and seated immediately at what has become our 'regular ' table. We had just a few minutes to settle in when William, our server, came to our table. Service at the Blacksmithis always great but William brought game! He was fun, so nice and I have to say, William is a fired up salesman. He made severalgreat suggestions, all very tempting, but we had the chicken salads with a raspberry dressing. My friend wanted a dessert andshe got the cheesecake with blueberries. It was a generous serving! We shared it and it was very good. I was in the mood for acocktail but hesitant. William suggested several great sounding cocktails and then he made the 'Black and White Martini '. Icouldn 't resist and I 'm glad that I got it. William decorated it with a chocolate heart design and it looked wonderful. It wasso impressive that a man at a nearby table asked about it. It was so good, I could have enjoyed a gallon of it. Oh wow, ittasted as great as it looked! An excellent dessert cocktail. William really made our night fun. He was so funny. As a formerserver, I truly appreciated the great service and top caliber personality that William enhanced our evening with, veryspecial. The Blacksmith is my favorite place in town, great food, excellent menu choices and always good service.
Our first visit here exceeded all expectations! Literally everything we tried blew our minds. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable when we entered and asked for recommendations; the restaurant was clean everywhere we looked. We had the FiletMignon, charred arugula salad, the pork tenderloin, filet crostini appetizer (which disappeared before I could even think aboutgetting a picture! , taco soup, carrot cake, Bloody Mary and the Foundry. Both portions of filet were cooked perfectly, thebloody Mary wasn't too salty, the Foundry wasn't too sweet; everything was in stunning balance. What left me in awe though wasthe pork tenderloin. It was juicy, soft, and had SO much flavor! I was in shock at just how good it was, particularly as arather picky pork eater. The carrot cake was fresh, moist, and again, balanced in a way that wasn't terribly sweet and I couldstill taste all the other ingredients. We WILL be back. We finally have a new date night place 2 years after moving to this sideof the state! A huge thank you to all staff. We're in love!
This whole experience was long and tedious. Despite the best efforts of an awesome manager, I still don’t know if I’ll go back. Pretty sure the final straw was this waiter keeping his receipt book in his belt (touching his underwear). The food wasvery very good, especially the pretzel. If you have 2 hours, give this place a shot for the food alone. Be prepared to wait anddeal with staff that would prefer to sort menus than seat you.
