Friedland Castle - Jablonec nad Nisou

Friedland. we are greeted by a free parking lot and after just a few minutes' uphill we are in the ticket office of the burg, which is impressively built on the rocks. we choose the historical castle tour in Polish. here they are very close to the border triangle of Germany, polens and the Czech Republic, which is why many polen spend their holidays here. I don't care if I don't understand Czech or Polish, because I get my reading text in German. the castle with the characteristic 60 m high tower was built in the 13th century and belonged first to the family raden. it was her who built a Renaissance castle in the 16th century. it was decorated with amazing sgraffitos that were rediscovered in the 1960s. with the failure of the uprising in 1621 the family lost their descending and the new owner became wallenstein, who was now also called the herd of frydland. but he rarely visited the castle. Nevertheless it was very popular as wallenstein 's castle, so it was opened for the public in 1801 by the then owner graf Clam-Gallas. it is one of the oldest castle museums in the Czech Republic and is rich with beautiful and authentic furniture in good condition.

Amazing place, best burg, as far as I know, with real things inside

One of the most beautiful herre houses in the environment, unique by the fusion of a renaissance castle and a baroque castle, as well as its mostly intact interiors. there is also a very nice park with a small pond right next to the castle.

This castle sightseeing trip takes up to 2h. Its not so big but for sure has a nice history and a lot of inventory still kept behind this castle walls. Currently government owned it was a worthwhile visit.

Such a great place, unfortunately we did not make photos in interiors because is not permitted. But believe me is very nice and great there.
