The food at this restaurant is outstanding! We decided to try their pasta dishes, and a conversation with the kitchen staff revealed that they like to focus on traditional regional recipes for their daily specials. We had two different types of pasta and a seafood dish: ziti with braised beef, spaghetti with fresh tuna and zucchini, and calamari in creamed peas with confit cherry tomatoes. For dessert, we tried the Pastiera Napoletana: Ricotta with candied orange rind, vanilla, and orange blossom water - it was absolutely divine! The staff was friendly and accommodating, and even though our Italian was not great, they were patient with us and spoke a little English.
The restaurant has a good location, the food is decent, but the service is quite basic. It's actually a self-service restaurant, so don't expect to be served your food on a plate, especially if you order a burger. If you enjoy this style of dining, then this is the place for you.
We visited the restaurant two times in a row and had two completely different experiences. The first day, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. However, the next day, a different waitress did not welcome us and asked us to move to a smaller table even though the restaurant was empty. We were actually looking for a larger table because I am 8 months pregnant and did not want to be cramped in a corner. Additionally, the food was not as good as the day before, even though we ordered the exact same dishes.
