Contribute FeedbackRustic and cozy, we asked for a recommendation from the menu, which seemed limited, but they have a nice selection. There was an American gentleman sitting next to us who praised the place. The food is fantastic, plentiful and hearty. We started with an empanada, which I was told is very traditional, made with corn pastry (unlike others I've had that were spongy) and it was very flavorful. The owner/manager suggested we try the mixed meat platter since we wanted to sample a few dishes. It included belly dancing (prepared until crispy), fried strips of pork, Colombian chorizo (which was completely delicious, even though I'm not a huge fan of Spanish cuisine), plantains, cabbage, rice, stewed beans, and a fried egg! More than enough for two! We also had their truly Colombian coffee, which was divine and creamy. Overall, we loved the experience—no frills or fuss, just friendly service and quality food at great prices. What a find!
You can find this restaurant inside the Nags Head Market. They offer a diverse menu for lunch that changes daily. I recommend trying an empanada as a snack or starter. Don't miss out on their fruit juices, especially the guanabana juice with milk—it's absolutely delicious!
Mi Rancho is a small café-restaurant that serves Colombian food and is becoming a bit of a culinary hotspot in the area.
