I was really concerned with the new location, I went to UNM for many years and Pericos was always my go to for lunch, but now it has moved, and I was worried it wouldn't be the same... I, fortunately, was wrong, this place is still amazing! I love getting the 6 pack of tacos, and the salsa you get is always on point! The bean burritos and everything else on the menu has always been the best! So happy they didn't just... View all feedback.
What mels lee doesn't like about Perico's Tacos Burritos:
Been wanting to try this new place up by the airport. Finally got that chance but was sad and disappointed. Spent almost 30 bucks on 2 taco plates..just to eat the beans. Our tacos were dry, shells were hard to chew and stabbed my palate, hardly any meat but alot of lettuce and tomatoes. And top it off I was just gonna start on salad that came w/it but it was old lettuce. Moved on to rice and beans, rice became crunc... View all feedback.
Everything about this restaurant is excellent. My only misgiving is the extremely loud music videos playing that do not leave a single somewhat quiet corner of the interior. If you plan to talk to another person while you wait for your food, or better yet, while you dine, you might have to move outside. Otherwise, very nice prices and food and customer service with a smile.

So happy they didn't just close, they only moved, and from what I can tell, am even better spot, although it's some distance from UNM now... something really needs to happen with the decay of Central, but that is another story. Kid-friendliness: Kids love this place too! Great tacos, can't say it enough!

Our tacos were dry, shells were hard to chew and stabbed my palate, hardly any meat but alot of lettuce and tomatoes. And top it off I was just gonna start on salad that came w/it but it was old lettuce. Moved on to rice and beans, rice became crunchy...so all I had left was beans and tortilla that came with it. Maybe it was just a miss today ...idk. but I of course thought since it's new that it was going to be Good good. I also notice they microwaved our food in Styrofoam.
The photos posted make the food look really good BUT it is just mediocre. It is better than Taco Bell but Taco Cabana and Twister's are much better choices. The green chile is very mild. Chicharone burrito had really hard chicharones. The beans were so-so. The rice tasted dry and the tomatoe sauce in it was without any flavor. The chile cheese fries tasted like over processed cheese was used but they had a large amount over the fries. The staff were very friendly but food prep for an order takes about 12 -14 minutes for dine in. I will not be trying again.
We love their beef tacos! We always get multiple 6 packs of these said tacos when we dine here. The salsa isn't the greatest but just use your own homemade or Sadie's Hot salsa on them and they're chef's kiss! Service is always fast and quite friendly. We'll definitely be back for more tacos AND the chimichangas are soooo delicious as well.
