We had a great experience at this welcoming pub, thanks to the excellent staff member Finlay Blue who was friendly and professional. The fish and chips we ordered were outstanding, with succulent batter on the fish that was even better than what I had in Padstow. We wish we had more time to visit again, as the food and service were exceptional.
Love this place. Been several times before and every time enjoyed the food and cosy atmosphere. Steak and ale pie yummy. Meringue amazing! Was great to see my 9 year old tuck into his jacket potato and finish the lot! Definitely advised to beat the rush and get there early. We can’t wait to go back.
We were here on 15th August a very helpful lady said we could eat out in the garden as we had out two small dogs with us. Nothing seemed to much trouble as at first we didn’t realise that we was sitting in the smokers area! We soon moved up into the garden area how spacious lovely this was! I’m writing this as the food was delicious very well presented. I had Steak Ale pie my partner had a Ploughman’s . The meals were both plentiful. The Maltese-a Cheesecake with ice/ cream was to die for! Once again the waitress had garden customers all under control nothing was to much trouble. A big Thank you for such a lovely meal. Compliments to the chef
Excellent service the bar man was lovely and very knowledgeable a real credit when I came to bar he acknowledged me and said won’t be a minute rather than ignoring me. Food was in good time fresh home made and really lovely. Dogs welcome. We eat in beer garden by choice and dog treats were available inside. Will defiantly return and the bar man is a credit to the pub! Even with our fussy requests it wasn’t too much. Oh and gluten free options which he also was very knowledgeable! 9/8/23
Lovely pub, friendly staff. Large food portions, well priced for the amount you get! Highly recommend.
